What is a Lotus Flower: Significance and Meaning of this Majestic Flower

If you've been around our online Tribe, you'll have noticed that we sometimes use the lotus flower on our product designs, from eco water bottles, to shirts and hoodies. But why? If you're thinking "because it's a cool flower", you're not wrong. But it's so much more than that!

Lotus flowers are majestic, colorful and unique. You'll find them floating on ponds, not in your flower bed. It is often thought that the lotus flower symbolizes rebirth and purity, and in a sense, overcoming adversity. In fact, the lotus does just that to bloom. Each flower blooms directly from muddy waters into the something beautiful.

Even more, the lotus embodies great meaning in Buddhism. In the Buddhist religion, the lotus flower is known as a symbol of the awakening of the Buddha and a distinct reminder of the ability to achieve enlightenment and rebirth that we each possess.
Whether you read deep into the meanings and Buddhist teachings around the lotus or just let it serve as a kind reminder that out of the darkest waters can come something beautiful, we're definitely a fan of this beauty! Don't be surprised to see more lotus flowers across our merch!
