Now Planting Trees in Indonesia

About Indonesia

Indonesia is a collection of over 17,000 tropical islands in Southeast Asia.

We love Indonesia - actually most of our team has spent significant time there. I think Bali is one of the easiest places to be super healthy - yoga and surf culture, plenty of beach to run and ocean to swim, and lots of healthy food options.

Something else cool about Bali, that I saw everywhere in Canggu, is the #iamnotplastic movement.

If you've been to Canggu, you've seen it - paper straws and non-plastic straws (and bags and ponchos) that are actually plant based and biodegradable. You can identify the restaurants and cafes serving them because #iamnotplastic is branded on the straw.

They're typically made from root vegetable Cassava (similar to Yuca).

Indonesia has a pretty bad ocean trash problem, so seeing the community and businesses working to make biodegradable straws and bags is really cool that awareness and action are taking place.

Tree Planting in Indonesia

Our tree planting partner Eden Projects has expanded to Indonesia! And a portion of our donations to plant trees contribute to the Indo projects.

Eden Reforestation Projects is working with local villagers on Biak Island and West Java to reforest mangrove ecosystems and help restore, replant and protect the environment.

With these initiatives, we're also providing a better livelihood for villagers that depend on the environment for survival - food and resources.

Where You/We Come Into Play

With our Eden Projects partnership, we donate to plant a tree every time someone purchases any of our Water Bottles or Leaf Leather accessories.

It's estimated that 80% of Indonesia's original forest habitat has been lost, and is still losing 6.2 million acres per year.

This is why we give back to the Earth, and why we partner with organizations making positive impacts on the planet. We want to protect and restore our beautiful home planet.

Thanks to our customers, community, and partners, we've now collectively planted over 200,000 trees in 12 different countries!
