Introducing our newest tree planting parnter, CIRENAS! CIRENAS is a small, non-profit organization located in Costa Rica on the southwest coast of the Nicoya Peninsula, just north of the surfing town of Santa Teresa.

They don't just plant trees and supporting ecosystems, they're also a hub for education and have a full campus with lodging and classrooms to teach advanced methods of agroforestry and sustainable food growth. Nice!

"CIRENAS exists to build transformative connections between people and the environment through education, research, integration and innovation." - cirenas.org

I personally met with the good people of CIRENAS recently, explored their campus, and learned about their agro-foresty practices first hand. They have a real passion for growing sustainable food and integrating natural symbiotic relationships to increase tree growth and create a stronger, more resilient local ecosystem.

As a fellow nature lover, I connected instantly with Sam (left), their Permaculture Manager. Here's a pic of us at their campus in Costa Rica:

Tree Tribe is expanding into more gear for the outdoors lifestyle, and we'll be planting trees with CIRENAS for every sale on our newest product, the Tree Tribe Eco Water Bottle, available mid October. If you want the hookup when these come out, join our email list here.

CIRENAS is using innovative and replicable production techniques on their campus that will benefit the world increasingly as their projects continue to mature. Planting trees is not just work for today... reforestation and agroforestry have tangible short and long term positive results.

We're stoked to be a part of their mission and will be supporting tree planting, strategic growing of controlled ecostystems, and in unison spreading the word of planting trees to prevent poverty and boost the overall health of the Earth.

Tree Tribe is a global movement, and we're dedicated to forming more partnerships with tree planting organizations around the world as we grow. Adding Costa Rica to our country list is awesome, but we're also really excited to support the CIRENAS organization in their efforts to educate people from all over the world on agroforestry and reforestation techniques.

Cheers,

While we all know that plastic straws are seriously damaging our planet (think 500 MILLION plastic straws used per day, most ending up in landfills*), we don't always talk about the alternatives to being able to use your straw...in a sustainable way. 🌱
